EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL FOR DATABLE CHARCOAL FROM THE SAN JUAN RIVER, UTAH (2000)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Kathryn Puseman.

Six bulk soil samples from deposits along the San Juan River in southeastern Utah were floated to recover charcoal and other organic remains suitable for radiocarbon dating. These samples were examined as part of a paleoflood study in a bedrock controlled reach of the San Juan River between Bluff and Mexican Hat, Utah. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
