Indian Mountain Long Range Radar Site (LRRS) is part of the Alaska Radar System (ARS), which currently consists of 15 active Long Range Radar Sites (LRRS) throughout Alaska. The ARS is an essential component of North America's air defense. Prior to that in the 20th century, it was in the location of a placer mining operation along Utopia Creek.
