This site is located on the north bank of the Potomac River, one mile east of Upper Cedar Point, and two miles east of the mouth of Nanjemoy Creek. It runs along the coast for half a mile and extends inland for as much as 35 feet, though it usually is confined to a variable 10-20 foot wide strip. The shoreline in this locale apparently has stabilized such that the former wave cut cliff line has been revegetated.

From 2000 through 2010, GLARC has conducted numerous archaeological studies within the Rock and Crawfish River valleys, in southeastern Wisconsin. From March 21 through August 22, 1985, the Institute tor American Research conducted archaeological studies for the City of Tucson in the Santa Cruz Industrial Park, Tucson, Arizona. One archaeological site was excavated to accommodate scheduled land development. The results of a subsurface inventory survey conducted at Bellows Air Force Station (BAFS) are reported. The survey area followed a 1.8 km fuel pipeline and transected BAFS from Keolu Hills to Waimanalo Bay. Twenty-three backhoe trenches and three controlled test units were excavated. This project covers two archaeological surveys conducted prior to the construction of the Tucson Aqueduct, part of the Central Arizona Project (CAP). One of the surveys was done on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation, and thus relates to the CAP Indian Distribution Division (IDD) collection. The other survey was conducted in a lot adjacent to the Reservation, and relates to the broader Tucson Aqueduct collection.
