Three hearths at 24YE353 were noted eroding from the northern bank of the Yellowstone River. These features were examined for their pollen and macro floral content to identify common elements of the local vegetation, as well as to address possible subsistence activities. In addition, another site located upstream, MAC 89-22, contained a single hearth, which was sampled for both pollen and macrofloral remains.
