Eight soil samples from site 42CB1184, a historic homestead in central Utah, were examined for pollen, phytoliths, and macrofloral remains. Originally patented in 1916 and occupied until the Great Depression, the Gaetano Morlano Homestead contains intact buried cultural deposits detailing the lifestyle of early twentieth-century homesteaders.
