EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL FOR DATABLE CHARCOAL FROM THE DESCHUTES RIVER, OREGON (2000)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Kathryn Puseman.

Three bulk soil samples from flood deposits on the Deschutes River in north-central Oregon were floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon dating. These samples were examined as part of a paleoflood study on the Deschutes River and other Pacific Northwest rivers. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.
