Samples from the lower organic levels of a privy at the Chief Ouray Homesite, 5MN847, near Montrose, Colorado, were examined for pollen, parasites, and macrofloral remains to identify elements of the diet and parasites present. Privy deposits are believed to represent use of the privy by Chief Ouray, his wife Chipeta, and Ute and Mexican tenants from 1876 to the 1890s.
