An archaeological inventory was conducted by MAAR Associates. Inc. at Fort Lee, Prince George County. Virginia. This study resulted in the identification of 99 prehistoric and historic sites. The Alaska State Historic Preservation Officer received a grant from the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Legacy program to write a historic overview of the state’s Cold War properties. The study is to assist DoD property managers with managing the numerous Cold War properties under their responsibility. This study shows that individual Cold War properties are interrelated parts of a larger unit. They often had major impacts on local areas.
