This letter reiterates and stresses the importance of preserving Building 1198 which is a World War I era aviation hangar. The agreement between the Texas Historical Commission and Fort Sam Houston was that the demolition of 27 other properties at Fort Sam Houston included a stipulation to preserve this significant historic resource through its disassembly and donation to a private museum organization.
