Fort Sam Houston is planning an undertaking to demolish building 197 which was constructed in 1912 as a troop barracks. The building is currently being utilized as an administration facility housing the Army Band. This property is listed as a Category I historic property in the Programmatic Agreement and is a contributing element to the National Historic Landmark District.
