The surveys were conducted on land administered by White Sands Missile Range for the U.S. Army. A total of 620 acres was surveyed in the Red Rio area, yielding 1 archaeological site and 26 isolated occurrences. Between February and December 2019, archaeologists with Versar, Inc. conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of 3,350 acres in the Weapons Impact Area, Oscura Bombing and Gunnery Range (OBGR) within White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), Lincoln County, New Mexico.
