In the course of 13 field seasons, archaeologists have carried out 23 operations across the ruined city of El Perú-Waka’. During these investigations, excavators recovered upwards of a million ceramic sherds from a wide variety of contexts; palaces, pyramids, residences, sheet middens, construction fill, ritual deposits, spoil piles, termination deposits, votive deposits, surface collections, burials, caches, and tombs. Moments of Change: Network Systems of Bristol and Copenhagen from 1400-1700 and Their Role in the Development of Early Modern Cities (2020)
DOCUMENT Citation Only Stuart D (1,2) Whatley.

This is a paper/report submission presented at the 2020 annual meeting of the Society for Historical Archaeology. The role of metals in Ychsma society: A case study of Panquilma (2016)
DOCUMENT Citation Only Qiang Wang. Enrique López-Hurtado.

In this paper I present a study of the role of metals at Panquilma site during the Ychsma phase (c. AD 1000-1470). Although metals were found in all three sectors at Panquilma (ceremonial, residential, and mortuary), the largest collection was from Sector 3, the burial area. Some mummy bundles were found in Sector 2, but they contain far fewer metals compared to the burial area. Similarly, very few metals were found in ritual or ceremonial contexts in Sector 1. It is widely accepted that metals...
