The Second Woods site was excavated as part of the Mohawk Valley Project. The site is located in the town of Minden, New York, and lies on a long ridge that runs westward from the village of Fort Plain. Second Woods is one of several sites clustered in the town of Minden, on the south side of the Mohawk River. It may have been one of the communities that came together later at Otstungo.
