From 22 January 2013 to 24 May 2013, HDR, Inc., conducted a Section 110 cultural resources investigation on Department of Defense land located within Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. A Class I survey performed on July 11, 1994 indicated 29 previously recorded sites located within 1.0 mi (1.6 km) of the survey routes. Fourteen sites were shown to be located near the transmission line corridor, with four of these within the right-of-way. Undertaken between July 14 and 19, 1994, the Class III survey of the route included a 100 ft (30 m) wide corridor with a 150 x 150 ft ( 46 x 46 m) area examined around each structure. This report summarizes the results of Phase Ill site documentation and other field studies concluded at Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB). During site revisits, a number of new sites were recorded. In addition, other surveys were conducted. These included a survey of Installation Restoration Program (IRP) sites, an intensive reconnaissance of arroyo cutbanks, a survey of the High Energy Research and Technology Facility (HERTF) antennae range at KAFB, and the ADAL water base survey.
