This canid foot bone bead workshop/activity area was discovered at 48CA1366, the Harrier Nest site, a stratified, multicomponent camp along the Belle Fourche River. The major components at the site included Late Prehistoric tipi rings on the surface, a sequence of at least two buried occupations by ceramic bearing peoples with ties to Missouri River earthlodge villages, and a deeply buried Middle/Late Archaic living structure.
