The archaeology in the Prescott region, specifically in the Dewey area, is relatively unknown. Pollen and macrofloral samples have been analyzed from three sites north of Dewey along State Route 69 specifically to discuss subsistence practices. Selection of samples focused on examination of material from pithouses, firepits, burial/roasting pits, burial pits, and deep round pits.
