In 2003 a partial bison skull was recovered by Ashley National Forest archeologist Brian Storm from an elevation of 3840 m (12,600 ft) AMSL in the Uinta Mountains. The partial skull consists of a portion of the frontal, occipital region, and horn cores including horn sheaths. BONE COLLAGEN EXTRACTION AND AMS RADIOCARBON AGE DETERMINATION OF A BISON BONE FRAGMENT FROM THE CASPER SITE, TEXAS (2017)
A bison bone fragment recovered from an alluvial terrace at the Casper Site (WT-1) in San Antonio, Texas was submitted for AMS radiocarbon analysis. The bone is expected to date in the latter part of the Little Ice Age. In addition to radiometric dating, the bone was examined for its δ13C and δ15N ratios.
