Thirteen soil samples were removed from a stratigraphic column at the Marsh Hawk site (32BI3l7) for pollen and phytolith analysis (Table 1). The site is located in a ridge running in a southeast/northwest direction on the east side of the Little Missouri Badlands. The study area contains a high density of archaeological sites.
