EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL FOR RADIOCARBON DATABLE MATERIAL FROM THE ANTON SCARP AND CHEYENNE PLAINS PIPELINE TRENCHES, COLORADO (2005)
DOCUMENT Full-Text Kathryn Puseman.

Five bulk soil samples from the Anton Scarp and Cheyenne Plains Pipeline Trenches in eastern Colorado were submitted for particle size determination and were floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. These samples were recovered from organic-rich silt representing modem or buried A soil horizons. Because these samples did not contain sufficient charred organic material for radiocarbon dating, dates were obtained on humates extracted from the soil.
