Parent: Domestic Structures

A relatively high (over 1 meter), flat-topped mound, frequently constructed in several stages on which one or more structures were placed. Platform mounds are constructed using soil, shell, or refuse. They may incorporate earlier, filled-in structures in their substructure.

The site is comprised of a platform mound, indicative of a Salado settlement, and artifacts from 1895 through 1939 when the area held the third schoolhouse for the community of Gisela. The file consists of a site data form, four maps of the site location, a site map, and a summary description of the site. The earliest dated document is from 1986.
