Pueblo Colorado Lot, Period, and Soil Volume

Part of the Pueblo Colorado Archaeological project

Creator(s): Katherine Spielmann

Year: 1990

Summary

This dataset provides the provenience information (e.g., square and level) for each Pueblo Colorado lot number, the period assigned to that context if known, and the soil volume for that context. Note that numbers 249-278 were never used.

Data Set Structure

Measurement Column
Count Column
Coded Column
Filename Column
Integration Column (has Ontology)

Table Information: PC_Lot

Column Name Data Type Type Category Coding Sheet Ontology Search
Period The general temporal period assigned to excavation levels when possible. This is based on the glaze ware rim chronology, so it is rough. For the rooms this was less evident so the nature of the deposit is listed instead.
VARCHAR  Coded Value Provenience and Context : Context Pueblo Colorado Temporal Periods Salinas chronology true
Soil Volume This column provides the soil volume of each excavation lot in cubic meters.
VARCHAR  Uncoded Value Provenience and Context : Context none none true
Level The first level was generally an arbitrary 25 cm, with subsequent levels 10 cm. In the roomblocks natural levels (e.g., fill) were excavated in larger segments.
VARCHAR  Uncoded Value Provenience and Context : Context none none true
Square Each 1 x 1 m square was designated by the coordinates of its NE corner
VARCHAR  Uncoded Value Provenience and Context : Context none none true
Unit Five excavation units and one room in each of two roomblocks are the larger units within which squares were excavated.
VARCHAR  Uncoded Value Provenience and Context : Context none none true
Lot Each excavated provenience (e.g., 1 x 1 m square and level) was assigned a lot number which was then used in artifact databases.
BIGINT  Uncoded Value Provenience and Context : Context none none true
