Faunal Data from Apalachicola (1RU18, 1RU27)

Summary

An Excel spreadsheet containing the zooarchaeological data from Apalachicola (1RU18 & 1RU27), part of the Apalachicola Ecosystems Project. The first tab contains the primary zooarchaeological data, the second tab contains the weights, and the third tab contains a pivot table which shows the total combined weight for each taxon identification.

Table Information: Pivot Table

This pivot table displays the total weight (in grams) of each species or taxonomic identification. This table is best viewed in the Excel file (not through the tDAR interface).

Column Name Data Type Type Category Coding Sheet Ontology Search
Total Weight in grams In the column next to the taxon's common name, the pivot table displays the total weight in grams of all specimens belonging to that species or taxonomic identification.
DOUBLE  Measurement (gram) Fauna : Weight none none true
Taxon Each taxon is displayed on three consecutive rows on the pivot table. The first row displays the taxon code, the second row displays the latin taxon name, and the third row displays the common taxon name.
VARCHAR  Uncoded Value Fauna : Taxon none none true

Table Information: Primary Data

This table contains the primary zooarchaeological data (everything except weight).

Table Information: Weights

All weights were collected by taking all specimens belonging to a specific taxon identification within a minimal analytical unit (Catalog number) and weighing them together. Thus, while different elements or portions are separated into different lines in the primary dataset, they are combined here for the weight measurement.
