Summary

Archaeological reconnaissance survey of the proposed additional Marine Corps training areas at Bellows Air Force Station, Oahu, Hawaii was conducted in November 1980 for the Commander, Pacific Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii by the consulting firm of Archaeological Research Associates. This survey was limited to surface survey only, with no sub-surface work of any kind, but did include 100% coverage of the 356 acre project area.

The basic goal of the survey was to locate, identify, and establish the boundaries of any archaeological remains of possible archaeological significance--particularly any such remains that might be related to the known important deposits of the 018 dune site, or those probably related deposits in nearby areas both within and adjoining National Register District 50-80-15-511 (Bellows Field Archaeological Area).
