POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS AT LIPSCOMB, (41LP1), TEXAS

Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings

Year: 1990

Summary

Paleoenvironmental interpretations of the stratigraphic record at

Lipscomb were sought through examination of both the pollen and phytolith

records. Samples were collected stratigraphically from sediments at Lips

comb to test preservation of both data bases. Samples were selected for

analysis at various depths to assess the probability of recovering an interpretable

paleoenvironmental record. Six phytolith and four pollen samples

were examined initially. Lipscomb Bison Quarry is located in the northeast

ern panhandle of Texas.
