MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF A CIRCULAR BASIN HEARTH AT SITE 5BL3440, DEVIL'S THUMB LAKE VALLEY, COLORADO

Author(s): Kathryn Puseman

Year: 1992

Summary

One sample from a circular basin hearth at Site 5BL3440, west of Nederland,

Colorado, was examined for macrofloral remains. Late Paleoindian projectile

points were found at this site; however, the site is believed to be Early Archaic

with an age of about 6000 years. Macrofloral analysis will identify types of

wood burned as fuel, as well as provide possible subsistence information.
