Summary

A pollen core was collected with a Giddings corer at site 24JF761

located near Montana City in Jefferson County, Montana. Pollen analysis at

this site was designed to address environmental changes from a level

preceeding the occupation to the present. Vegetation changes in the area of

Montana City for the past 10,000 years have been inferred in a report

addressing the environmental analysis and modelling by Dale Herbort (1987).

Pollen sampling was designed to test this model and further define

environmental changes in this area.
