Summary

A basalt metate from Site 35LK3035 in south-central Oregon was analyzed for pollen and

possible protein residues. This metate was recovered from Cultural Component II, which has

been dated between 6100 and 7880 RCYBP. Pollen and protein residue analyses are used to

provide information concerning plant and possible animal resources that were processed using

this metate.
