POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS AT THE ELECTRIC DUCK SITE (48CA3606), WYOMING

Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Chad Yost; R.A. Varney

Year: 2007

Summary

The Electric Duck site (48CA3606) is located in the Powder River Basin in Campbell

County, northeast Wyoming. Stratigraphic samples were examined for pollen and phytoliths to

identify past vegetation communities in the area of the site for the time period represented.

One layer was described as primarily ash, so it was examined for phytoliths only, as pollen does

not survive fire.
