Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Chad Yost; R.A. Varney

Year: 2007

Summary

Paleoenvironmental investigations using pollen and phytolith analysis and AMS

radiocarbon dating were conducted on a stratigraphic core taken from sediments associated

with the Keller Site, 12D509, located in southeastern Dearborn county, Indiana. This analysis is

associated with an archaeological investigation conducted by Cultural Resource Analysts of the

Argosy Lawrenceburg Casino project near Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Pollen and phytolith

analysis will provide local and regional landscape vegetation data useful in providing climatic

and plant resource availability context for archaeological materials and features. AMS dates will

anchor this paleoenvironmental record.
