Summary

A projectile point recovered during monitoring and removal of a shell mound in St.

Petersburg, Florida (Bayshore Homes 8PI41) exhibited residue in the hafting area.

Radiocarbon dates that bracket occupation are reported as AD 200-400 and AD 1000-1200.

Identification of the organic residue present in the hafting area was undertaken using a Fourier

Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR).
