POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM THE LEE SITE (45GR756), WASHINGTON

Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Kathryn Puseman

Year: 2008

Summary

Four strata from a unit just outside a housepit depression at the Lee Site, 45GR756,

were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. This site consists of house depressions on

top of a mesa in the Columbia Plateau, Washington. Pollen and macrofloral analysis also was

conducted on fill from a housepit rim feature, which yielded a calibrated age of 1280-1070 BP.

Pollen and macrofloral analyses will be used to provide paleoenvironmental and subsistence

information concerning plant resources available to the house pit occupants.
