Summary

Seven pollen and two phytolith samples were examined from the Double Ditch Historic

Site (32BL8) on the east bank of the Missouri River in North Dakota. Samples were collected

from fill of a former fortification ditch around a Mandan village. Analysis of these samples was

undertaken in an effort to recover evidence of agriculture, especially in regards to possible

garden plots and cultivation.
