An Archeological Survey of Three Relocated Drill Hole Locations and Two Access Routes for The Salt River Project

Author(s): Christina G. Allen

Year: 1981

Summary

This report presents the results of an archeological survey conducted on Bureau of Land Management land near Huerfano, New Mexico, by the Office of Contract Archeology, University of New Mexico. The purpose of the survey, carried out for the Salt River Project, was to inventory and assess the cultural resources that might be affected by the construction and use of three relocated exploratory drill hole locations and two relocated access roads. This work follows a survey of 48 drill hole locations and access roads, and a cultural overview and 10% sample survey conducted between September of 1980 and March of 1981 (Allen 1981a and b). During the current survey only one isolated find was recorded. Archeological clearance is therefore recommended since all pertinent information on that find was acquired during the survey.
