Part 1: Archeological Testing at Site AZ C:02:75 (GC)

Archeological testing was conducted in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (GLCA) at site AZ C:02:75 (GC) by archeologists from GLCA and the Western Archeological and Conservation Center (WACC). The fieldwork was conducted between June 28 and July 2, 1999, at the request of GLCA cultural resources personnel. The purpose of the testing was to identify the nature and extent of cultural resources, to determine if any future data recovery activities are necessary, and to make recommendations for the management of the cultural resources.

Part 2: Archeological Testing at Site C:02:77 (GC)

Archeologists from the Western Archeological and Conservation Center

(WACC) and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (GLCA) conducted archeological testing at site AZ C02:77 (GC), The work was conducted in the summer of 2000 between August 20 and 26, The testing was recommended because of the erosional impacts that were documented at the site during the Grand Canyon River Corridor Archeological Site Monitoring Program. The testing was designed to determine the nature and extent of the cultural deposits and determine the site's relationship to the broader Ferry Swale Bench settlement pattern, Based on the testing results, recommendations were made concerning

the need for future monitoring of the site.
