Summary
Arizona State Parks (ASP) proposes to complete a project to extend individual tent campgrounds, create a group camp area, and install a Ramada for campers in Kartchner Caverns State Park. ASP proposes minimal ground disturbing preparation consisting of vegetation clearing and leveling for primitive tent-camp locals north and south of an existing gravel road in the southeast portion of the park. In addition, a separate group camp location is proposed, which consists of clearing and leveling an area measuring 50m x 30m with a 50m long access road extending from an existing paved parking lot to the cleared area. Two areas were proposed for the group camp access as well as a conduit easement to provide electric and water to the campground from an existing outlet. The Ramada will be placed within a landscaped central median within the existing paved parking lot.
