Summary

This document presents the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Facility Investigation (RFI) activities and the Interim Measures (IM) Work Plan (WP) completed at Facility 18003, Solid Waste Management Unit C091 (SWMU C091) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Florida. The RFI Report and IM WP are intended to meet the Corrective Action Management Plan (CAMP) requirements as part of the CCAFS Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA) permit with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).

The RFI concluded: 1) a Corrective Measures Study (CMS) should be implemented to address VOC and lead concentrations in groundwater, 2) surface water sampling should be included in the CMS to monitor for changes in surface water VOC concentrations; 3) an IM soil excavation should be performed and the excavation areas should be delineated to the FDEP residential Soil Cleanup Target Level (SCTL) and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) criteria, and 4) no further action is needed for sediment.
