Summary

This report provides an inventory and assessment of the Cold War-era (1945-1991) built environment at Columbus Air Force Base (AFB), Mississippi. This work was conducted by Geo-Marine, Inc., to assist the United States Air Force, Air Education and Training Command in fulfilling its responsibilities under Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended through 2000.

Of the 655 Cold War buildings or structures at Columbus AFB that were inventoried, only 22 were further evaluated based on their association with the Cold War missions of Columbus AFB. Of the 22 buildings or structures evaluated, three were recommended as eligible for listing in the NRHP.
