Summary

This document is a letter from the California State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) regarding the Western Range Command Destruct Site Modernization Project. The letter provides SHPO concurrence for the project and addresses and or explains that, 1) Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) will assume NRHP eligibility for archaeological sites CA-SBA-0991 and -0992; 2) VAFB determined that archaeological sites CA-SBA-1001 and -3012 do not meet criteria for NRHP listing and do not contribute to the significance of the San Antonio Terrace archaeological district. The letter also provides SHPO concurrence with, 1) assuming Building 1937 eligible for the National Register of Historic Places; 2) the delineation of the project Area of Direct Impact and the Area of Potential Effect; 3) the eligibility determinations for the five cultural resources; and lastly 4) the project finding of No Adverse Effect.
