Elbert County Road Relocations 1979

Summary

This collection is referred to as "Elbert County Road Relocations 1979.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is one (1) linear inch.

The documents date from 1978 to 1981. The investigation occurred in 1979, which explains the date in the project name. The range of dates also includes administrative and background materials. The materials were originally housed in acidic file folders in a cardboard box with multiple collections from the Richard B. Russell Multiple Resource Area. The documents were lacking a discernible original order. Multiple documents contained metal contaminants, which were removed. Various small tears were found throughout the collection, and these were mended with acid-free tissue tape. The documents were otherwise in good condition. Personal information was removed from folder 5/1.

The collection contained an oversized map from the investigation area that required flattening and smoothing. The document was placed in the oversized storage.

The collection contained a photographic print from the analysis records. The photographic print was assigned to a folder and the photographic print was removed for permanent storage in an archival binder.

The digital materials in this collection were processed by the Veterans Curation Program (VCP), and include an archival photograph, finding aid, original investigation report, oversized material spreadsheet, photographic material spreadsheet and scanned asset key. Additional digital materials held by the VCP include an archaeological survey report, archives database, box labels, design memorandum, document folder listing, initial data collection, management statements, maps, notes, oversized labels, photographic material labels, photographic slide labels, records removal sheets, scopes of work, and a transmittal slip. For additional information on these materials, refer to the finding aid.
