Banda (Ghana) Research Project

Summary

The Banda Research Project encompassed archaeological investigations in the Banda area, Bono Region, Ghana from 1982 through 2011. Investigations focused on sites dating to the last two millennia, with a particular focus on how life in the region was shaped by wider inter-regional and inter-continental networks. The project originated in Ann B. Stahl's PhD research (University of California, Berkeley), followed by multiple seasons of survey, site testing and wider excavations at sites dating to the second millennium CE.
