Fifteen pollen samples were collected from a kiva floor at Gran Quivera. This site is located in central New Mexico in the Upper Sonoran Life Zone. It was occupied between AD 8OO and AD 1775. The kiva, which was sampled for pollen, has building date of AD 1510. The kiva was occupied during Glaze D. Pollen analysis was undertaken at Gran Quivera in conjunction with archaeological investigation of several midden areas. Stratigraphic pollen columns were collected throughout various excavation units within the midden in an effort to sample all of the glaze units represented.
