Chelsea Gardner

I am PhD candidate in Classics with a specialization in Classical Archaeology at the University of British Columbia.

My dissertation focuses on cultural identity within the Inner Mani peninsula of southern Lakonia, Greece and my goal is to compile and synthesize relevant historical, epigraphical, and archaeological sources from the Archaic to the Roman periods to provide a better understanding of the ancient peoples in this unique geographic area.

I work as a teaching and research assistant at the University of British Columbia, and am an active participant in The Diros Project in the Mani peninsula.

I am the founder and director of From Stone to Screen, a collaborative project to create a digital database of the department of Classical, Near Eastern and Religious Studies' archaeological and epigraphic collections.
