Archaeological investigations of the Yorktown Enclosure (12-Dl-39) were conducted to determine the origin and potential significance of the earthwork. Fieldwork and comparison with other earthworks in the New Castle Phase of east central Indiana revealed that the site is a 2,000 year old earthwork.
