This resource is an archeological reconnaissance of the Red Gulch Reservoir area completed by the Missouri Basin Project, Smithsonian Institution, in June 1951. The field party consisted of Franklin Fenenga, archeologist, and Frederick H. West, assistant. A paleontological reconnaissance of the same region was undertaken by Dr. Theodore E.
