The Quaternary Sciences Center (QSC) of the Desert Research Institute (DR!) surveyed a road and areas for communication towers in the Jack Rabbit Knob area on the Tonopah Test Range (TIR) for archaeological resources (Figure 1). The access road and linear routes on top of Jack Rabbit Knob are 4.97 mi (8 k) long. Another 400 ft (122 m) square area at the east base of Jack Rabbit Knob was surveyed for a proposed gravel pit.
