Two pollen and one macrofloral sample were examined from the fill of a hearth within a deep rockshelter, site 24CB1862, in southern Montana. Sediment from beneath a rock adjacent to the hearth also was examined for pollen. This hearth represents the southern occupation in the rockshelter. It was found about 5 cm below the surface and widely scattered over a two meter area with abundant charcoal, burned sand, and fire-cracked rock present.
