Site AZ Q:2:35 (ASM) was originally recorded as a sherd and lithic scatter during an earlier survey of the proposed expanded right-of-way (ROW) of the Salt River Project (SRP) Coronado Coal Haul Railroad (Neily and Irwin 1990). During August 1992, the National Park Service conducted archeological test excavations at McCreery pueblo, Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona. McCreery Pueblo is a late Pueblo II-early Pueblo III site consisting of a small masonry room block, a great kiva, a trash mound, and nine other features. Over 65 m2 were excavated at the site. The Zuni Heaven project is a proposed land selection for Apache County, Arizona. Nearly 5,900 acres will be available for transfer to the County. In three phases, between October 1985 and July 1987, BLM inventoried over 7,100 acres to locate sufficient acreage for transfer. During the surveys, 32 sites were recorded in 19 different parcels. A total of 5,977 acres have been recommended for transfer to Apache County, excluding parcels which contain National Register potential properties.
