A fragment of marine shell was also noted but given that it is a nonnative species (Chione sp.) and its proximity to the Sudden Ranch, it is unlikely that the marine shell is prehistoric.

This document is the isolated find record for VAFB-ISO-949. The artifacts are two Monterey chert flakes. One flake was discovered during a pedestrian survey in January of 2004. Subsurface testing was initiated in the immediate area surrounding the isolate in February 2004 to determine if additional cultural material was present.
