This is a report of findings about American Indian cultural concerns for places and landscapes in the Spring Mountain range in what is today called southern Nevada. More specifically it is a study of how people who speak a Numic language and who call themselves Nuwuvi or Nungwu, and are known in English as Southern Paiutes, interact with the Spring Mountain range.

Range 65 Tank Training Facility (1987)
On November 19, 1987, a cultural resource inventory was begun on Range 65 for a tank training facility. The project was initiated by the National Guard in an area which has been previously utilized for tank training exercises by the National Guard and the Air Force for a period exceeding 15 years.

Range 74C Airfield, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada Test and Training Range, Nye County, Nevada (02-2015-NTTR) (2015)
The primary intent of this Air Force project is to develop an airfield within the existing Range 74 C. Possible uses of this airfield might include landing aircraft or air to ground weapons testing. This proposed area is easily accessed by existing dirt roads. The project area will be approximately three miles long and half mile wide.

In 1992, Air Combat Command (ACC), which has oversight of 23 bases including NAFB, took efforts to complete inventory and evaluation of cultural resources on NAFB in Las Vegas Valley. NAFB is one of few bases that projects facility expansion, thus planning for protection or mitigation as necessary. Eighty-seven percent of NAFB lands were inventoried and 34 sites were evaluated as eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) under 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)...

Report of Negative Findings for Additional Survey of Area II Wastewater service Area sewer Line, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada (1993)
Within the area of the additional pedestrian surface survey no cultural debris was observed. Therefore, archeological clearance is recommended along the route of the additional (Area II) survey with the proviso that if the route is changed outside the boundaries of the right of way surveyed additional survey would be required.
Report on the Archaeological Investigation of Buried Trash Deposits Uncovered at Indian Springs AFAF PHASE I and II (1999)
Report on Phase II investigations of a historic trash pit. The buried trash consisted of aqua colored alcohol bottles (40%), ceramic dishes (may be soap dishes) (15%), cans (5%), cut bovine bones (30%), burned wood (5%), and small objects (including a burned shoe) (5%).

Research Design Archaeological Characterization Sampling For the EC South Range, Nevada Test and Training Range, Nellis Air Force Base (2008)
The purpose of this project is to conduct a characterization sampling study for the EC South which includes a portion of Quartz Mountain. They are mountainous areas that research has demonstrated has high potential for identifying significant sites. This project is a 4% sample of 200,000 acres to identify eligible sites for preservation, management with the mission, and Native American visitation.
