POLLEN, PHYTOLITH AND STARCH ANALYSIS AT 48CA959, CAMPBELL COUNTY, WYOMING (2013)
Site 48CA959, located in the Porcupine watershed, yielded several Late Prehistoric, small diameter, cylindrical pit/oven features and at least one pit hearth. Calibrated radiocarbon ages reported for the pit/oven features range from AD 390 to AD 1000 and a corner notched Late Archaic point was found on site. Four pollen and phytolith samples were examined from a stratigraphic column to obtain a record of local vegetation from slightly prior to occupation until the present. Five of the pit/oven...
